A brief introduction to yourself?
I’m Dilara Tandoğan. 18 years old.

How did you develop your fondness for karate?
I was seeing it on TV, I was interested, I wanted to start. When I told my family they did not allow it, then by chance I saw a karate gym and insisted and sent it to my family.
What drew you to Karate out of all other sports?
Respect and discipline.
At what age did you start learning karate?
12 years old.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in karate?
I’m practicing Ashihara and Kyokushin Karate and I am 1st dan black belt.
What was the highest prize you won?
I won the World Ashihara Championship.
What do you like more Kata or Kumite?
Kumite. I love the fıght.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
My favorite Sensei Shihan Mahmut Sermet Ulufer.

How did you get to this position and how was your journey being in this sport?
I live away from the gym, travel miles every day, spend my free time from school and sports on the roads, but I never miss any training, my determination and discipline played a big role in my achievement.
Do you take karate as your profession or is it just a hobby?
As profession.
Who’s been an inspiration for you throughout your sports journey?
I can say was 4 person. Israel Adesanya, Rose Namajunas, Nate Diaz, Robbie Lawler.
What challenges did you come across on getting where you are at today?
You can share any injury story as well.
I had many injuries, my ankle was broken, my wrist was cracked, my nose was broken, my mouth was split, my fingers were cracked, my leg was torn.
What motivates you the most about your profession as an athlete?
Seeing the results of my exercises in matches is the most motivating thing for me.

What are your strengths as both an athlete and as a person?
I can say never give up. I always work hard and always do my best.
Do you have something you want everyone to learn?
I want to know that it is important to be patient and work hard.
