A brief introduction to yourself?
My name is Elizaveta Chebotar. I am from Ukraine, Kiev. I am 19 years old, I do Karate Kyokushin.

How did you develop your fondness for karate?
Since childhood, I have loved watching sports films, games, and championships. When I was in school I saw karate classes and fell in love with this martial art.
What drew you to Karate out of all other sports?
There are a special philosophy and respect in karate. These are a few of its main qualities that attract me.
At what age did you start learning karate?
I started learning karate when I was 12 years old.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in karate?
Karate Kyokushin-kan. Now I have a brown belt with gold embroidery (1 kyu).
What was the highest prize you won?
Ukrainian championship and Ukrainian cup.
What do you like more Kata or Kumite?
I like Kumite more. But kata is worthy of great respect, it is a very high skill.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
There are many great coaches and fighters, it is difficult to single out one of them.
How did you get to this position and how was your journey being in this sport?
When I was in school, my classmates started going to the karate section, which opened at the school. One day my classmate forgot his notebook in class and I wanted to return it to him. This is how I first saw them doing it. And so, I also decided to start learning karate.

Do you take karate as your profession or is it just a hobby?
Karate is a big part of my life. I continue to compete. Shortly, I want to start training children and continue to participate in competitions.
Who’s been an inspiration for you throughout your sports journey?
Many athletes from different sports motivate me. For example Daria Bilodid, Oleksandr Eremenko, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Vasily Lomachenko, Oleksandr Usik, and many others.
What challenges did you come across on getting where you are at today?
You can share any injury story as well.
For me, the most difficult challenge is the inner state. It is an eternal struggle with myself, an eternal pursuit of the best version of myself. And sometimes it is very difficult to cope with this race. Support of loved ones and self-confidence help a lot.

What motivates you the most about your profession as an athlete?
Other athletes and their stories.
What are your strengths as both an athlete and as a person?
My strengths are perseverance, self-confidence, and a kind heart, despite the rigidity of martial arts.
Do you have something you want everyone to learn?
Respect for others and self-confidence.
