Elizaveta a karate athlete.

A brief introduction to yourself?
My name is Elizaveta. I am 20 years old. I am from Russia.

What drew you to Karate out of all other sports?
I like Oriental culture, and in karate, it is very pronounced.

At what age did you start learning karate?
I started learning karate at the age of 10.

What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in karate?
My karate style is Kyokushin kai and I have first KYU (brown belt with a gold stripe) at the end of this month I will passing an exam on first DAN (black belt).

What was the highest prize you won?
I won the championship of Russia (kata) in 2016 and won the cup of Russia (kata) in 2020.

What do you like more Kata or Kumite?
I like kata more than Kumite, but I practice in both disciplines.

Do you have a favorite Sensei?
Yes, my first Sensei Andrey Bogdanovsky.

How did you get to this position and how was your journey being in this sport?
I started as a child, and after 4 years I decided that sports will be my main occupation in life. I participated in many competitions and spent most of my time in the gym.

Do you take karate as your profession or is it just a hobby?
This is my profession, three years ago I became a coach.

Who’s been an inspiration for you throughout your sports journey?
I was inspired by my Sensei and my team.

What challenges did you come across on getting where you are at today?

You can share any injury story as well.
The most difficult challenge for me is to improve the technique in the kata.

What motivates you the most about your profession as an athlete?
Мy students motivate me the most.

What are your strengths as both an athlete and as a person?
My strengths are perseverance and endurance.

Do you have something you want everyone to learn?
I would like athletes to listen more to their coaches. It’s very important.
