A short introduction to yourself?
I am Isabella Diogo Ortega, many call me * Isa of gold *, I am 9 years old I am a brown belt, I started training at the age of 5 due to the encouragement of mine who is also a black belt.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
I currently practice the Shotokan style, but I started in the Shorin Ryu style.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?
I am three times champion of São Paulo in kata and a Two-time Brazilian champion of Shorin Ryu no Kata, Champion at the Shinshukan Mundialialito.
What do you like Kata or Kumite more?
I am passionate about kata, but I have been working hard on shiai training, and this only increases the desire to be on the mats competing in the fight too.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
I currently have a Sensei @Rodrigo Inácio, who has always been a dream to be able to train at his academy at Gladiators. A great friend and also Sensei @Ana Dublê, who gave me strength in a very difficult moment of my journey, saying not to give up karate, because it was my dream and I couldn’t abandon it.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
I train 3 to 4 times a week, my gym is an hour away from home. We face many battles until we get here. For almost four years I am part of the São Paulo karate team and now I am also part of the base of the Olympic ksp project, which prepares athletes for competition inside and outside the country.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
I want to be able to combine karate with my studies and make it my profession.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
My motivation and knowing that I can represent my country and visit several places.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
May everyone know the true spirit of karate. I respect discipline, effort, dedication, and love in everything I do
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
The tournament I am most proud of was the day that Sensei Rodrigo Inácio sat in the chair as my coach for the first time.
