A short introduction to yourself?
My name is Isabella Offenburger. I am 11 years old and am currently a solid grey belt at Lotus Club Miami.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
When I was younger, my parents put me in different sports so I can discover what I liked. Soon after, I grew a passion for Martial Arts. I was 5 years old. By the time I was 6 years old, I started MMA and then Jiu-Jitsu and have never stopped since.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in (your sport)?
I currently hold the rank of a grey belt in Jiu-Jitsu, an Orange Belt in Kenpo Karate, and a Yellow Belt in Shoot Fighting. I have decided to focus my career on Jiu-Jitsu at this time.
Isabella Offenburger’s favorite Sensei?
No, I do not have a favorite Sensei. Thank you, Sensi Ace, Arthur, David, and Manny. I love you all!
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
Well, to get to where I am today, it took lots of focus, time, and dedication. I train 6 days a week and compete as much as possible.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
Isabella Offenburger’s take this sport as a profession. I would like to grow in my Jiu-Jitsu and someday become a world champion.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
I have faced balancing my responsibilities. I am a kid who is getting ready to go into middle school. I have many things to worry about. Over the years, I have had to learn to balance my education with everything else that goes on, one being Jiu-Jitsu training.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
The fact that I am in a male-dominated sport and how I excel in it is what motivates me the most.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
I want everyone to remember to never give up and to always believe they can do anything they set their minds to.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
A fight that I am most proud of was when my first Jiu-Jitsu tournament for Newbreed and I have to say that it was the toughest fight I have ever had!
