I am Juan Eula, Uruguayan, 30 years old, I live in Florianópolis, Brazil. I have been a professional MMA fighter since 2019, my record is 4-0, My specialty is boxing, although I won all four of my fights by submission.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start?
My interest in contact sports started when I was very young. I am a big fan of boxing, a sport that I started training at 21 years old. A few years later I made the transition to the MMA, sport in which I professionalized in 2019 at the age of 27.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in (your sport)?
I have a very aggressive style of fighting, I come from boxing but I excel in wrestling and in jiu jitsu I am currently fighting for one of the largest organizations in Brazil, @bigshotmma where I got 2 wins in the 2nd round in less than 8 months
Are you a member of any sports team? if not have you ever been?
Currently I belong to the team R F A Brazilian fight scul – Santa Catarina Brazil
Describe your major highlights and achievements in sports in the past.
My first win against the Uruguayan champion of my category and one of my greatest achievements is my two international fights.
Although I come from boxing, I specialized in wrestling and jiu jitsu. I am currently competing in one of the biggest organizations in Brazil, @bigshotmma, where I had two 2nds round wins, in less than 8 months. I belong to the RFA Brazilian Fight School team. My main achievements in the sport are the two international victories. My short-term goal is to get the belt of the event in which I am currently competing. And in a few years to be able to compete in the UFC. For me, this sport is a lifestyle that characterizes me and urges me to improve myself at every moment.
Are there any short-term goals you’d like to accomplish in the next few months to a couple of years?
My short-term goal is the belt of the event to which I am part now and in a couple of years to be able to be fighting for some of the best companies in the world
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
My sport is more than my profession, it is a lifestyle for me, something that I am going to do as long as my body lasts.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
I faced many challenges to be where I am right now. I was born in Rivera, a city in the interior of Uruguay, on the border with Brazil, where there were not many opportunities. I grew up in a humble family, in a neighborhood where vices and bad choices abounded, all of which led me to a depression and vices from which sport rescued me and gave my life a new direction and meaning. I was able to give my family a lot of pride and transform the world around me. Today I know that sport transforms lives and that no matter how difficult it gets, you should never give up. In the future I intend to be able to help many people to find their path as one day I found mine.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
Today what motivates me the most is my family. Being able to give everyone a better life, a life in which they can enjoy themselves without further worries, that is what lifts me up and motivates me every day, knowing that I can help everyone by doing what I love.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
I am convinced that martial arts should be mandatory in schools, since you not only learn about self-defense, but also about fundamental values such as respect, respect, courage, benevolence, courtesy, honor, loyalty, self-control, and many other benefits. more like increased self-esteem etc. It’s something everyone should learn
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why
All my fights were very significant, but there are two that are very important to me: My debut as a professional in MMA was in my city, where my family and friends were present, I won in the second round, it was very exciting to see all my crazy neighborhood and family, and my last Fight in one of the best events in Brazil @bigshot_mma. An international fight in which I started losing and was able to turn it around, leading the entire public to delirium, was very exciting for me.
