Lucas Fazes 22 years old jiu-jitsu athlete.
A short introduction to yourself?
My name is Lucas fazes, I’m 22 years old jiu-jitsu athlete, I started training at the age of 9 in the social project Behring Rio where I discovered a huge talent, won several state and regional championships, being very small and at 17 I received a proposal to train at Jorge Thunder Training Center,/Gfteam. Where my master Janjão PQD gave me the opportunity and see a lot of talent in me and started to invest and train me more, looking for several titles.
What sports do you practise?
Jiu-jitsu.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning?
I started when I was 9 years old.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?
1st place.
What do you like about Kata or Kumite more?
Kimono and its lightness.
Do you have a favourite Sensei?
Master Julius Caesar.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
Lives on the hill it’s hard to get anywhere but thanks to God and with humility I’m achieving all my goals, trying to be the best always.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
Profession.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now?
You can also share any injury story. My challenges were lack of money, to be able to compete and even train, lack of sponsorship, lack of support, the injury I had on my knee when I moved and had to be out of action for 6 months.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
It motivates me, to always be better, to be everything my mother always dreamed I would be, to always be better every day, every day to be better than before and to surpass myself more and more.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
Be humble, don’t give up on your dreams, chase them, that you can be the best,you can conquer everything you most want in this life with effort, never let anyone say you’re not capable.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
Pan American Championship.
