A short introduction to yourself?
I’m Mansi Choudhary. I’m from India. I’m 22 years old.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
I started learning taekwondo at the age of 10 years. We used to have an activity period at our school and Taekwondo was one of the options to chose as an activity. So, I start taking taekwondo training and develop my fondness from there only.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in ?
I’m more of a kyorugi player and I’ve 7th rank in India. My world rank is 390.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
My favorite player is Jade Jones.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
I get into a position from hard training, my coach’s work and trust in me, my parent’s support. My journey till now is been amazing. I’m learning every day and making myself better every day.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
I do take taekwondo as my profession.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
I’ve faced many several ups and downs. Sometimes financial problems and sometimes a few minor injuries but nothing serious. I always make throughout of them.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
When I see a little bit of advancement and improvement in my performance and my skills, it fills me up with confidence. And when I acknowledge that I’m serving my country and holding its dignity high it makes me more motivated.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
Yes, I want everyone to learn martial arts, it can be of any type be it taekwondo, wushu, karate. But one must learn the art of defense. It’s worth learning it.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
My best tournament was a national tournament held in Jammu and Kashmir. Where I hold the bronze medal. I’m proud of it more because of that tournament. I gave the best fight of my life. And I was proud of myself so was my coach.
