A short introduction to yourself?
I’m Mohammad Taha Ghaffari from Iran. I’m 7 years old now and I’m playing taekwondo right now. It’s about 1-year I’m playing taekwondo and in this year. I got 12 medals in (Poomsae, hanmadang ,kyoreugi ). My Master’s name is Mr. Nazmdeh. My goal is to play in the Olympics in the future.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
Due to my great interest in Taekwondo, I went to the gym at the age of six.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in (your sport)?
My style is Kyoreugi but I train for hanmadang and Poomsae. I currently have a blue belt, but I will get a red belt in the coming days.
What do you like Kata or Kumite more?
As I said I play Taekwondo not karate but I like Kyoreugi more.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
Yes, I like my coach (Master Nazmdeh) and also the world champion (Master Yousef Karami) very much.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
I owe my success to the efforts of my sister ( She always help me.) and my Master.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
A profession.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
One of the challenges I had due to the emergence of the Coronavirus was that I practiced alone and hard at home for several months.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
My sister helped me a lot in this way and I was also more motivated by seeing the success of Iranian and world athletes.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
Always strive to succeed.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
The first world-level online competition I participated in, (which was in the style of kyoreugi) was held with many virtual participants due to the presence of Corona in the world. I was able to score 100 points in that record, and my record was set in the Emaro World Book.
