Muhammad Khamidov a 10 years old karate athlete.
A brief introduction to yourself?
My name is Muhammad Khamidov, I am 10 years old, I am in the 5th grade. I am a Chechen by nationality, but I was born, I live and train in Ukraine.
What drew you to Karate out of all other sports?
My dad took me to karate for the first time, and since then I have been training to the present.
At what age did you start learning karate?
I started karate at the age of 5. I am engaged in Kyokushin kai karate and reached the level of 6 kyus (yellow belt)
What was the highest prize you won?
My achievements in competitions:
First place in the Open Cup of Ukraine in 2018, (Kumite)
First place in the open cup “Zhytomyr open cup” in 2019, (Kumite)
First place in the open international championship “Matsushima cup 2019” (Kumite)
What do you like more Kata or Kumite?
I like doing kata, but I like Kumite more in competitions, I only participate in Kumite.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
My karate coach Nikolay Alekseevich Pogorely – 2nd dan Kyokushin kai karate.

How did you get to this position and how was your journey being in this sport? Who’s been an inspiration for you throughout your sports journey?
Punches were put on me by the Honored Trainer of Ukraine in boxing Mikhail Fedorovich Poperechnyuk. Work hard, with grueling training, I went the way to karate Kyokushin kai, from the beginning to the level of 6 kyus.
Do you take karate as your profession or is it just a hobby?
While I perceive and give myself to sports as a profession, but what will then be known to the Almighty alone.
What challenges did you come across on getting where you are at today?
You can share any injury story as well.
Throughout the time that I have been training, there have been many shedding tears and sweat. Praise the Almighty, everything went without terrible injuries, and there were small injuries, I remember at the Zhytomyr open cup when Mawashi beat his toes on the glass of his helmet, and his toes hurt for a long time.
What motivates you the most about your profession as an athlete?
The greatest motivation and attitude I get from my dad, and we look for many blows from the Internet with dad, for example, I learned Ushiro mawashi by watching the video of my fellow countryman Lechi Kurbanva.

What are your strengths as both an athlete and as a person?
I think as an athlete this is my reaction and speed, and as a person, it is kindness and honesty, in one word I try to be a good person.
Do you have something you want everyone to learn?
I want to wish everyone health and progress towards the goal, And so that the epidemic ends faster.
