A short introduction to yourself?
I am Nilda Saldivia from Venezuela, I am 13 years old and I have been practicing karate since I was 3 years old and I am a 2 Dan black belt from JKA / WF VENEZUELA.
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
My inspiration is My father who dos karate as a child and took me to practice karate-do and continues to accompany me on this path.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?
My karate style is Shotokan JKA and I am a 2nd Dan black belt.
What do you like Kata or Kumite more?
I like both but I like Kumite.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
Yes, I have a, the sensei Mery Aguilera 5th Dan of the JKA / WF VENEZUELA.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
I came to this position trying harder every day with a lot of discipline and hard work for the last 9 years.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
As a profession.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
All kinds of challenges but every day I feel that every minute and every effort has been worth it.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
That I love what I do.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
That with effort and discipline you can achieve anything you set your mind to in life.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
In champion Kumite, gold of the open shoto cup 2017 and in kata. In the II Pan American Karate Championship JKA Colombia 2019 where I obtained 4th place in kata.
