A short introduction to yourself?

I’mRhenan 29 years old, father of a 10-year-old princess, I live in Sorocaba/São Paulo in Brazil.

 

What sports do you practise?

Jiu-Jitsu.

 

How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning?

I love fighting since I was a child, but I developed the interest through a great friend who is a black belt, he had a Social project where I started when I was 25 years old and I’m still in this sport that became a way of life.

 

What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?

In jiu-jitsu,I’m a guard, and I’m currently ranked 3rd by BJJ.

 

What do you like about Kata or Kumite more?

Not practical.

 

Do you have a favourite Sensei?

Antoni Bareia.

 

How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?

I’ve always had a lot of determination in the sport, at first training in a social project I had some setbacks, but over time the jiu-jitsu itself opened doors for me.

 

Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?

Profession.

 

What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now?You can also share any injury story.

In the last championship, when I just got a medal, I received the news that my mother had passed away, that was an a.barra for me, but the other day I was training again.

 

What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?

Doing what I love, I do it with happiness.

 

Do you have anything you want everyone tolearn?

Humility

 

What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?

International SP, on account of being 6 categories above, fighting with people with 100kg over with only 62kg.
