- Success Story
Capucine Bertrand is a nutritionist for a athletes and football players.
A short introduction to yourself?
I am a nutritionist for football players and athletes in Spartan Race
How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning?
I discovered the spartan race in 2014 by chance as a volunteer, at that time I didn’t do much sport, just the gym and I had no self-confidence. I fell in love with this sport and started getting into the game of competition. As I didn’t have a training structure, I started doing lots of burpees in training so as not to be in difficulty during the races. I actually became “Mrs Burpees” because of it. Little by little I leveled up until I joined the France team in 2019, did the European and World Championships and a few podiums in certain competitions.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?
I am currently in the top 10 French women
Are you a member of any sports team?
if not have you ever been?
Nope
Do you have a favorite sports teacher?
I am trained by Grégory MONIN
Describe your major highlights and achievements in sports in the past.
Victory over the spartan paris, taranto, andorra and many podiums on various races + participation in the TV show la course des champions
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
A profession, a rigor like the professionals but I do not live from it I do it next to my work
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now?
You can also share any injury story.: The biggest challenge is that I started with nothing, had no funding, did everything besides work and no one believed in me. I was laughed at a lot at school, I was the one we chose last in sports and it’s a nice revenge
What motivates you most about your profession?
In sport, it’s about surpassing oneself, progressing while traveling, meeting new people, sharing, values
Do you think everybody should practice sports or do you want everyone to learn?
Yes, everyone has their level, everyone has their own sport, but for me it’s important to be active for your health and because it brings a lot of good things: meetings, well- being, self-transcendence…
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why:
My first victory in spartan in Paris in 2019 because I did not believe in myself at all and I never would have ever thought I would stand on a podium in spartan race one day
Are there any short-term goals you’d like to accomplish in the next few months to a couple of years?
I would like to participate in the world championships in Abu dhabi and the world championship in London, I am qualified for both I must now find the funding to go there
