My name is lago Da Silva. I am an athlete and I wanted to be better every day.

How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning?
A friend took me and I liked it, since then I never stopped, I started when I was 13 years old and I am still 24 years old.

What is your style and what rank do you currently hold?
I like to pass and guard, I’m a black belt.

Are you a member of any sports team? if not have you ever been?
Yes, GFTEAM.

Do you have a favorite sports teacher?
Sim, Vinícius Fonseca.

Describe your major highlights and achievements in sports in the past.
Rio open ibjjf champion, bjjpro rio, three times brazilian champion nogi runner-up european champion runner-up grand slam abu Dhabi and rio janeiro.

Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
As a profession.

What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
Lack of sponsorship, I lived at the academy for a long time, the bad part was being away from the family, not having money to eat properly but in the end it’s worth it.

What motivates you most about your profession?
Wanting to be better each, and being able to reach my goals.

Do you think everybody should practise sports or do you want everyone to learn?
Yes, everybody should practise sports.

What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
I didn’t win but I’m proud of myself, it was the 2019 European where I was second and in every fight I gave my best until the end.

Are there any short-term goals you’d like to accomplish in the next few months to a couple of years?
Having my American visa approved so that I can fight the ibjjf Worlds is my dream.
