How did you develop your fondness for your sport and at what age did you start learning karate?
I started training for fun and the influence of friends when I was 21 years old.
But from the first class, I was passionate about the sport, I started attending every day. In 3 months of training, I participated in my first competition and lost. It was this defeat that gave me the strength to train harder and come back stronger to be champion.
What is your style and what rank do you currently hold in?
I tend to be a smuggler more, but from time to time I do a guard too. Nowadays I feel good above and below.
Do you have a favorite Sensei?
My teacher is Gabriel marine.
How did you get into this position and how did your journey in this sport go?
It was very difficult, I always trained a lot, my training section is very heavy, 6 times a week and 2 times a day. I’ve always been looking for competitions trying to fight as much as possible and thank God now I’m starting to reap the rewards.
Do you take sports as a profession or is it just a hobby?
Nowadays profession. I live for jiu-jitsu.
What challenges have you faced in getting to where you are now? You can also share any injury story.
I think the biggest challenge for the athlete is the financial one, until you manage to stabilize it takes time, but you just have to be patient, have your head in place and things will work out. My biggest injury was in 2019, I was a purple belt, I did a 9-month camp to fight the world, I was in my best phase and fitness. However, 4 days after my fight, I caught a knee infection that even ran the risk of death and I was out of the Worlds. This was very complicated for me.
What motivates you most about your profession as an athlete?
Have a better life condition and see people who look up to me.
Do you have anything you want everyone to learn?
Respect each other.
What tournament or match you have won are you most proud of and why?
Blue Belt World Championship in 2017. It was a watershed in my life.
There I was sure that we are capable of anything, only for us to want and do wherever.
